Palladium in Cancer Treatment: Palladium can be used in the treatment of prostate and breast cancer. Small doses of the element is injected into the victim, then over a 2 month period, low doses of radiation are used to shrink tumors.
Palladium in Dentistry: The element of palladium is used in dentistry, in a compound of Palladium mixed with gold or silver, to make crowns, which build up an artificial tooth. Platinum like metals are used to cap teeth because there great mallability, strength, and long lasting qualities. The use of palladium in dentistry is a fairly new invention due to the lower cost of the metal compared to pure gold or silver.
